The bevy of updates the Triumph Bonneville received in the T140V iteration makes it the perfect vintage Bonneville for riders; not collectors.
The venerable Triumph 650cc unit-construction parallel twin’s displacement grew to 750cc and the power increased from 46bhp to 50bhp. The frame was also revised and the oil sump was relocated from a side cover mounted behind the engine to being a integrated reservoir that formed the “backbone” of the motorcycles frame. A Lockheed front disk brake replaced the drum that been fitted to the previous T120R generation and considerably improved the braking performance of the motorcycle. All of the above leading to a better riding, faster, safer motorcycle.
This particular 1974 Bonneville is an excellent riding example of a T140V. The entire motorcycle has been serviced including a new plunger style oil pump, new points set, spark plugs, fresh fork oil, engine and final drive oil.
This T140V is a numbers matching survivor with perfect patina. It is all original paint, the original seat is still in excellent shape and all of the brightwork is in good condition.
There aren’t many ‘74 Bonneville’s left in this condition and level of originality. Don’t let this one get away; contact us for more details.
